Research activities/Special interests Upper Troposphere-Lower Stratosphere (UT-LS) gas phase and heterogeneous chemistry.
>> significance Main concern: Trace gas -ice interaction (physical processes and heterogeneous chemistry) related to cirrus clouds (UT-LS) and to the snowpack (Planetary Boundary Layer; Ice core) Mass Spectrometry for research in atmospheric chemistry.
>> current and futur investigations 1) Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry for trace gas quantification in the UT-LS.
Main task: Ion-Molecule Reaction kinetic studies using a pressure and temperature regulated ion flow tube reactor coupled to a quadrupole mass spectrometer. 2) Investigation of interaction properties of gases with surfaces of atmospheric relevance (ice) using a Time Of Flight - Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (TOF-SIMS) Others:
Neutral-radical and radical-radical kinetic studies in flow tubes Last update: Sep. 2003 |
